XSI Data Solution announces its latest offering: iViper iSCSI RAID subsystems. iSCSI allows you to build storage area networks over IP using something you already know and use everyday: Ethernet. iSCSI is a new Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard protocol for encapsulating SCSI commands into TCP/IP packets and enabling block data transport over IP networks. iSCSI can be used to build IP-SANs using a standard Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. By utilizing Gigabit Ethernet technology as the baseline infrastructure, iSCSI SANs enable IT managers to leverage existing IT infrastructure and expertise, taking out much of the risk and cost out of implementing a SAN. XSI Data Solution's iViperT is based on new high performance fourth generation RAID engine, the first of a new family of high capacity RAID storage system supporting 4.8 terabytes (TB) of data and more.

provide high performance with feature rich tools. At the heart of the X4 is a highly integrated,
high performance, iSCSI / TCP/IP offload ASIC with embedded processors running a fully
featured, integrated storage virtualization firmware stack. The iViper X4 offers features such
as Media Protection, Caching, Redundancy, End-to-End data protection and RAID. Supports RAID 0,1,10,5 and JBOD. 4 x 1Gbs TCP/IP off load Ethernet ports.
